Bill Nye the Science Guy is a fabulous resource for reinforcing science concepts in the classroom.  From my past experiences,  I have discovered that students are able to make connections to what they are learning in class to the demonstrations and examples Mr. Nye uses in his instructional videos.

Blogging would be beneficial for me as an educator because I can connect my students and families to valuable sites that would complement the learning that's happening in the classroom.  I think the main purpose for blogging would be to communicate with families and provide more learning opportunities for families to explore.

As I reviewed blog site options, I think KidBlog.org would be the best for first graders.  It has a simple layout and easy to follow.  I like the idea of having extra safeguards on the site.
